FEEDING
DRY SEED MIXTURE: comprising the larger millets, plain canary, milo, wheat and oats with supplementary amounts of grey sunflower.
FRESH WATER: for drinking.
REGULAR GREENS: such as milk thistle, endive, dandelion, seeding grasses, etc.
CUTTLEFISH, SHELLGRIT.
VARIETY FOODS: Apple, corn on cob, capsicum, eucalyptus leaves, non-toxic buds and flowers.
HOUSING
AVIARIES*: minimum height 150cm; 25000 sq.cm. first bird, add 12500sq.cm. per extra bird
CAGES*: minimum height 150cm; 15000 sq.cm. first bird, add 7500 sq.cm. per extra bird
PLANTS: most individuals chew the plants in the aviary. Can be destructive to woodwork. Beware of toxic plants
MIXING: Generally intolerant of other birds. Best housed as individual pairs.
