FEEDING

DRY SEED MIXTURE: comprising millets and plain canary seed. Sunflower seed and Hulled Oats should be available.

FRESH WATER: for drinking and bathing

REGULAR GREENS: such as milk thistle, endive, dandelion, seeding grasses, etc.

CUTTLEFISH, SHELLGRIT, CHARCOAL.

HOUSING

AVIARIES*: minimum height 60cm; 7200 sq.cm. first bird, add 3600sq.cm. per extra bird

CAGES*: minimum height 34cm; 1600 sq.cm. first bird, add 800 sq.cm. per extra bird

PLANTS: most individuals chew the plants in the aviary. Beware of toxic plants

MIXING: generally tolerant of other birds, even the smallest of finches. Some species may hybridise with other members of this group. Therefore, they should not be kept together.
