DRY SEED MIXTURE: comprising millets and plain canary seed.
FRESH WATER: for drinking.
REGULAR GREENS: such as finely chopped milk thistle, endive, dandelion, seeding grasses, etc.

HOUSING
AVIARIES*: minimum height 60cm; 7200 sq.cm. first bird, add 3600sq.cm. per extra bird
CAGES*: minimum height 34cm; 1600 sq.cm. first bird, add 800 sq.cm. per extra bird
PLANTS: most individuals do not chew the plants in the aviary. Beware of toxic plants
MIXING: Inoffensive to other birds, even the smallest finches. May be kept in a colony. This species thrives in very warm, sunny conditions.
